LET THERE BE LIGHT

How lighting can take your joinery to new heights…

We all know how important lighting is within our homes and how interior designer’s maximise its transformative qualities to great use within their schemes.

I regularly ask the question… how would you like us to light your joinery?

Lighting is an amazing ‘mood maker’ whether you want your space to feel warm and cozy or if you need more direct light for reading or preparing a meal. It is also a ‘go to’ for injecting some of your own personality into your home.

MAKING A STATEMENT

Don’t be afraid to go big… have fun with it. When I say go big consider scale, adding oversized elements into the design create an edgy vibe.

Think about layering, so team up linear LED’s with lighting pendants. I find the ‘unexpected’ often packs the biggest punch.

WHAT’S YOUR MOOD

Selecting the right ‘colour temperature’ for your joinery can be a challenge. Colour temperature is typically categorised as either ‘cool white’ or ‘warm white’ in domestic settings.

So what will work best… ask yourself ‘How do I want to feel’

Warm white creates a lovely ambient glow which looks great against more classic joinery styles or if you want to evoke a more chilled out feel.

Cool white teams up really well with the modern design, especially high lacquered finishes.

There isn’t any hard fast rule when it comes to colour temperature this is purely based on personal choice.

Here are some examples showing how lighting can really help set the tone…
